Michael Scott Kitchen Cart - The Result Of Four Generations' Work

A Michael Scott kitchen cart is typical of the products offered by this well-established company.

Four generations of furniture makers have brought Michael Scott into kitchens everywhere, but they've held on to design ideas that are as practical, elegant, and beautiful as they were decades ago.

Much of their furniture is in the very practical and comfortable style of early 20th century home design, but is perfectly suited to 21st century kitchens.

Practical But Very Modern

For the most part, their islands and carts are legged cabinets or tables that combine practical elegance with convenient storage along with workspace for preparation, cooking, serving and entertaining.

Available in both painted and natural finishes, the design of models like the Avalon and Monterey are suitable for either elegant or rustic kitchens.

Bases on Michael Scott islands and carts are of wood construction, Natural finishes are hand-rubbed oak, but cream and black painted finishes are available, as well.

Top surfaces on Michael Scott islands and carts are maple, granite, or stainless steel, and some models, like the Avalon with a 42" work surface, have bun feet that can be removed and replaced with included casters when a cart is needed for entertaining in other rooms or for cooking outdoors; a very nice idea.

All models have storage beneath, some on storage shelves, like the Monterey, and some in enclosed cabinets, like the Avalon and Peoria.

Most island and cart models have one or two drawers, too.

Not all Michael Scott carts are traditional designs.

Some are natural finish contemporary designs, like the Hostess Cart with a removable cutting-board top and a removable under-shelf tray, along with towel bars two drawers, bottle racks.

Modern, yes, but just as practical as other Michael Scott cart designs.
