John Boos Kitchen Island - 118 Years Of Experience

John Boos kitchen island furniture is produced by John Boos & Co. which has been in business since 1887.

They manufacture a full line of work tables and carts for residential, commercial and industrial use, and their experience as suppliers to commercial companies and to the military during WWII lead them rather naturally to develop island and cart designs that incorporate both wood and stainless steel.

Many of John Boos' island designs are wheeled which makes them even more versatile.

They can be used in the kitchen, of course, but can also be moved to another room or outside to the deck when entertaining.

Making The Cook Happy

John Boos island design is commonly open-shelved combining a butcher block top surface with stainless steel frame and shelves.

Still, their Cucina Rustica and Cucina Laforza butcher block models are completely of wood, as are several other very stylish islands and cart designs, the White House Table and Deluxe Culi Cart included.

Butcher block, one John Boos' earliest products, is constructed of Hard Rock Maple wooden blocks laminated edge or end grain in a variety of patterns and shades of wood that complement nearly every other material in the island and in the kitchen’s decor.

They're easy to clean, are nearly indestructible, resist cracking and warping, and are easy on your best cutlery.

Not all Boos islands have butcher block tops, of course. Some John Boos models are completely of stainless steel or combine a stainless top with wood base.

John Boos islands also feature extra cabinet storage in models like the Cucina Marcella and other features like wine racks, towel holders, drop-leaf extensions, knife blocks, and pot hangers to make the cook happy.
