Enclume Kitchen Island
Enclume Kitchen Island - Their Signature Style
Enclume kitchen island furniture is produced by Enclume Design Products, founded in 1973, in Port Hadlock, Washington.
The company has long specialized in high-quality pot racks but now manufactures kitchen furniture including Enclume kitchen islands; hearth products, like log storage racks and fireplace tools; wine racks, plant stands, coat racks, and other accessories.
Enclume products, though not sold directly by the company, are available through a network of 1500 retail outlets, from catalogs, and from web sites ekitchenislands.
Strong And It Looks The Part
Enclume furniture is made by skilled craftsmen using traditional French metal-forming equipment.
Materials used include high-carbon and stainless steel and chrome, brass, and copper plating.
Eastern Hard Maple is the chosen wood for butcher block tops which are featured on kitchen islands and bakers' tables.
In fact, all Enclume islands are fitted with a Butcher Block top for easier cooking and to prevent damage to expensive cutlery, and all feature what Enclume considers its signature style, Hammered Steel finish with a distressed patina.
Plenty of storage is provided on gridwork shelves that do not collect crumbs and dirt yet allow you to see everything stored there.
Top work surfaces are raised 36" from the floor for convenience and comfort while cooking and preparing foods. . . or for serving - Enclume islands are all wheeled and can be moved wherever guests have settled or wherever you want them to.
Work Carts and the Gourmet Island are very versatile kitchen islands, but Enclume also makes baker's tables, essentially their islands with bakers' racks installed, a very handy, durable, and sturdy design that combines storage shelves and Butcher Block work space with raised shelving plus pot racks and hooks.
