Cherry Kitchen Cart
Cherry Kitchen Cart - Aging Gracefully
A Cherry kitchen cart has much more the look of fine furniture than does a cart made of other woods.
Cherry kitchen carts have a very unique but traditional appearance, and few types of wood convey the measure of style that cherry does, especially over time - cherry ages well, warming to a deep reddish hue.
For the most part, cherry is used in cart designs that might be described as 'casual elegance' or 'traditional' and are intended to enhance the cooking and eating areas in kitchens that strive for that look.
For Stylish Entertaining
Cherry carts often include design features that make cooking and serving easier.
Drop-leaf cutting surfaces, enclosed cabinet storage, drawers, utensil and towel holders, and wine racks are commonly seen in a cherry wood cart design.
Cherry is almost always left natural and is finished with a clear finish or oil that allows the wood to age, it shouldn't, however, be placed where sunlight will cause uneven or excessive aging of the wood.
Carts made of stronger and usually less-expensive woods are often stained with a cherry finish, that combination might better suit your needs and budget.
As with most kitchen carts, cherry carts are available with tops of Butcher Blocks, stones like granite, marble or soapstone, and metals like stainless steel.
Cherry carts are especially nice for entertaining as they can easily be moved to other rooms in the house where they fit in very nicely with the traditional furniture very commonly found in living areas.
For a change of pace, Rogar, a Texas-based company, has recently introduced its kitchen cart made of stainless steel and Nyatoh, or Asian Cherry, a plantation-grown wood from Malaysia.
