Butcher Block Cart - Making More Of Less

A butcher block cart turns what is normally a limited-use kitchen cart into a much more versatile design.

Butcher Block has been around for over a hundred years and was first developed to resolve problems with sanitation and durability in the meat-cutting industry. Due to the tight but porous grain of the wood, Butchers Block is easy to maintain and clean, durable and, if properly treated, not subject to warping or drying out.

Butcher Block is much-favored too because it is durable yet easy on expensive cutlery and on cooking and eating utensils, and it won't mar or damage pots and pans. All of these characteristics make Butcher Block highly desirable for cutting boards, in counter top installations, on kitchen islands, and in Butcher Block kitchen cart units.

Serving The Cook And The Host

Cooking and storage areas are quickly and conveniently increased with a kitchen cart.

And since wheeled islands and carts are moveable, you can move them out of the way when not in use or rearrange them for a multiple-use floor plan between meals.

But most carts are for specific uses such as a serving platform, beverage service, to store implements and ingredients for specific styles of cooking like Oriental or barbecue, and a host of other uses for cooking and dining.

A cart with a Butcher Block top, however, is very handy for food preparation in the kitchen, particularly for cutting, slicing and dicing vegetables and meats, and provides a more versatile work space when more than one cook is in the kitchen.

It can then be moved to wherever guests have migrated for cutting and slicing meats, cheeses, breads, and vegetables used for appetizers.
